Hi to all
I am the author of newly released book in Ireland called Mother from hell.
For the first 16 years of our lives my brother Patrick and myself were tortured by our mother .Our abuse was broken bones,Starvation, daily beatings, and we were forced out to steal for our mother. We survived on bins to eat.For 16 years the Midland health board knew everything that was happening to us and they even made a catalogue of our abuse. We tryed to get justice from Ireland but like so many other victems we were treated like dirt by the system that failed us.Just like the case in Co Roscommon last year.Everyone knew but all failed to protect our childrens rights.I am ashamed to be Irish. Please visit our website and sign our petition. Thanks Ken & Patrick Doyle

Firstly I have to say how brave and strong you are Kathy, I cant even begin to imagine what things must have been like for you growing up. I cant believe the Catholic Church will not take responsibility for the actions taken by their priests and nuns and the way they hurt ( MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY) all of these women and children. These were people who were meant to be followers of God the only solice is that they must believe that they will go to hell for their cruelty and I hope that they suffer for every woman and child they hurt. I only wish before that happened they would be shown for who they are and charged in court for the crimes they commited. Being a Priest or Nun does not mean you dont have to answer to the justice system. I feel its time that the Irish Parliment and Catholic Church gave you the permission to change the plaque as this is the very least that they could do. I wish you well Kathy

i find it hard to express how it makes me feel. after watching a film about the magdalene laundries, i found this on the web, and am now compelled to find and read the book. how people who live their lives at the expense of young girls and boys, torture of the worst kind, mental, physical or any way they can think of are allowed to walk this earth is shocking to the core. some of these "people" still walk around today, among us. Their lives too, shrouded in secrecy. For these so called humans, i only hope that the hell they so many times described to innocent children does exist, and they suffer for eternity.
For those that died, and those who survived, you are among the bravest and strongest, you are all to be admired.

a message for kathy

i have read 'dont ever tell' i couldn't put the book down.
such awful, terrible treatment.

i went to a convent school in england and the nuns were cruel to us there, i used to run and hide in the chapel during lessons and playtimes as i knew they could not touch me whilst i was praying - i hated my life during those very young years and thse years have had a profoud effect on who i am today.

they made me feel that my naked - god given body - was disgusting and that at know time should we show any part of it whilst changing all be it from sports or swimming (although the nuns would rip open our towels and gawk whilst they would try to help us dry, or should i say stare.

undressing now is always a very private rouine ad i ca honesty say i am never completely naked until in the bath.

they were creul individuals, that liked to downgrade you as much as possible, in what ever way they could.

god only knows what you went through kathy

please stay healthy ad fight for your life a new and promising one. when you can put these cruel people aside and let them rot!!! live a good wholesome life an have some fun.

the scars will stay but the will fade. You have come this ar kathy dont hurt yourself over it, stay strong, put your fingers up to them and say i'm free!!!

blessing to you

I have recently finished reading kathy's book.
I had no idea what these women and children had to endure.
I was so cross at the clergy and the irish goverment that i e-mailed them to let them know how much they have failed these hundreds of women and they need justice it seems that the catholic church can do what it likes with no price to pay.Ihope that everyone else that reads this book does the same and maybe that terrible wording on the headstone will (quite rightly change).
