Treason of a governing class

“The nation is on the point of being destroyed by the treason of a governing class whose response to our crisis resembles a dying bachelor who shrinks a little deeper into the bed and turns his face to the wall.”

John Drennan, Sunday Independent.

  1. I don’t think we can be saved. Ireland is an utterly failed state. We are as a nation so endemically corrupt and venal we would be incapable of introducing the truly dramatic changes that are required.
What is needed is a violent overthrow of the government. Toothpaste advertising pseudo elections will not save us; Labour, Fine Gael or (God help us!) Sinn Fein are incapable of saving us.
Executions at dawn and the roasting of Cowen and co. over a spit in the courtyard of Dublin Castle followed by the long term internment of all those who voted FF into power again and again over the past 25 years might be the place to start.
